Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the grocery department, including stock replenishment and inventory management - Ensure shelves are properly stocked and organized to meet customer demands - Monitor product quality and freshness, and remove any expired or damaged items - Train and supervise grocery department staff, providing guidance and support as needed - Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment - Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, place orders, and manage deliveries - Assist customers with inquiries, provide product recommendations, and resolve any issues or complaints - Utilize phone etiquette to handle incoming calls and assist customers with inquiries or requests - Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping, data entry, and report generation
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment preferred - Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities - Proficient in basic math calculations for inventory management and sales transactions - Knowledge of market trends and consumer preferences in the grocery industry - Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors - Demonstrated leadership skills to supervise and motivate a team of employees Note:
