Lead Quality Engineer

Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager.
- Coordinate ISO 9001-2008 certification requirements. Lead auditor training a plus.
- Provide day to day Quality Assurance support to manufacturing.
- Monitor product line control plan, conduct audits.
- Provide technical assistance (data analysis, design of experiments) to in plant and customer quality assurance programs.
- Serve as customer and supplier liaison in resolving quality and specifications issues.
- Maintain customer complaint and corrective action records.
- Coordinate Plant internal audits and chair plant MRB meetings.
- Maintain internal HFM drawings.
- Manage site document control.
- Ensure labor, scrap and other metrics reports are prepared as required.
- Practice RPS process, including root cause analysis, to ensure corrective action at the appropriate level.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications
- Certified ISO 9001:
2008 (internal) Lead Auditor desired.
- Strong Six-Sigma or Lean manufacturing background is a plus.
- Process/Mechanical Engineering background a plus.
Aerospace experience preferred. Strong Six Sigma background.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
